Network Monitoring Solution
The Heartland Network Monitoring Service alerts administrators when critical
network problems develop. A single web interface creates a view of the entire network and allows
for proactive trouble shooting and system maintenance.
This Network Monitoring System is built on open source software components consisting of a monitoring
service and plug-ins to effectively monitor the health of hosts, servers, routers, and other
network nodes. This system also views availability of general network services such a POP3,
SMTP, PING, NNTP and HTTP. The entire system is configured to proactively deploy network
event notifications to Heartland or the network administrator for timely system maintenance and
problem resolution.
