The AV Engineer will assist with developing and installing solutions for complex audiovisual systems. Candidates should have knowledge in Extron, QSYS, Crestron and/or AMX platforms and have proficiency in the technical installation of audiovisual systems. Trouble-shooting audio, video, switching and control systems problems common. This individual needs to be a team player with good organization and computer skill sets.
 


Essential Functions

  • Work as a member of the HBS systems team that provides consultative and proactive project support to HBS’s account base.
 
  • Collaborate across multiple internal teams to ensure successful delivery of results based on scope of work.
 
  • Contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices and educate our sales teams on these products and services so that they can sell them.
 
  • Provide support, maintenance, and administration for customer systems.
 
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere between regional and virtual practices.  At all times maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
 
  • Provide time estimates and project scopes for systems related projects.
 
  • Maintain current vendor/industry specific certifications and stay current on new products and solutions.
 
  • Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year prorated based on start date. These charge hour requirements will be balanced against professional development and on the job training.

Skills & Abilities

Required Experience:
  • 6 months to 1 year in a technical related field, internship, or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
  • At least one year in a technical related field
  • Experience working as a consultant
Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications required:
  • Familiarity of standard software for DSP set-up, switcher set-up, video matrix, etc.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independent on projects and tasks
  • Assist with structured cabling work, as needed.
  • Read, understand and implement project scope of work, wire schedules, and line drawings.
  • Team player
  • Valid Driver’s license
 
Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications required:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CTS certification
  • Extron Pro Certification and/or QSYS Control Programmer Certification
  • AutoCAD and/or Visio experience
  • Experience with Lua Code and programming languages like Python
  • Acoustics knowledge and experience with EASE and Smaart Software
