A Cabling Installer I will work closely with the Cable Installer II and/or Lead Technicians to install and implement structured cabling solutions. This position will also work with AV and Physical Security Teams on installations as required.


Essential Functions

  • Pulling and installing new Cat 5E/ Cat 6 cable. 
  • Climbing up and down ladders at varies heights.
  • Installing cable pathways and raceways.
  • Be able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Install proper cable sleeves and chases. 
  • Take direction from Lead Technician.
  • Learn basics between different types of cabling.
  • Terminate Cat 5E/ Cat 6 cable properly.
  • Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year prorated based on start date. These charge hour requirements will be balanced against professional development and on the job training.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent  - Required
  • Experience: Construction and/or Electrical field experience - Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft office Suite (Basic knowledge of computers) - Preferred
  • Certifications & Licenses:
    • BICSI Fundamentals – Required (can be completed within 90 days of hire)
    • Valid Driver’s License - Required
