The Enterprise Resource Planning Manager is a leadership position within the HBS organization responsible for leading a team of ERP consultants with skills primarily in the business process consulting and business application consulting.  A successful candidate will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ability and desire to recruit, lead and mentor others, possess a strong technical background in developing and delivering enterprise solutions and excellent organizational and communication skills.  Build the ERP practice and brand awareness within the HBS geographic marketplace.
 


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with senior management, peers and practice teammates to develop and execute shared vision and operational strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Develop, manage, and adhere to practice budget and P&L.  Effectively manage costs in relation to budget.
  • Participate in strategic planning to develop objectives of the ERP practice and overall Applications business unit.  Develop common direction for the practice.  Set priorities and make team agenda and strategy clear to all team members.
  • Develop and leverage relationship with HBS Sales group to maximize the achievement of revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with the HBS Sales group on business development strategies for acquiring new client opportunities for the ERP practice.
  • Develop and leverage vendor partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.
  • Manage service offerings within ERP practice and spend time on innovating within the practice.
  • Serve as a thought leader and lead brand building efforts within the practice.  See where current trends will lead, and how they may influence the direction of the practice.  Foresee opportunities that will come and go.
  • Work collegially with other practice managers and business unit leaders.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of three (3) to fifteen (15) ERP Consultants that will range in background and experience from junior to senior level.
  • Cultivate an environment where team members respect and hold each other accountable to the HBS culture (PRIDE).
  • Work closely with Human Resources to develop and implement strategies to attract, grow and retain a highly skilled and engaged workforce.

  • Responsible for providing business consulting, implementation, and support service activities focused around Dynamics GP and related third party products to Heartland’s clients, leading and managing those implementations.  Maintain a complete understanding of competitive ERP products in the marketplace.
  • Conduct pre-sales meetings/solution architecting with sales team.
  • Minimum of 750 hours billed per fiscal year. This requirement will be balanced against practice building, professional development and presales support.

Skills & Abilities

Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience working with ERP packages including selecting, implementing, and optimizing packages.
  • 6+ years of experience providing business consulting services or similar leadership experience.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing accounting/ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree:
    • Required Field of Study: Accounting, Business or Operations Management, or Management Information Systems.
  • Strong understanding of ERP software and related terminology, functionality, best practices, processes and business rules.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Ex: Word templates, Excel Pivot tables, SQL queries).
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting concepts and standard bookkeeping procedures.
Preferred Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience working with Dynamics GP.
  • 4+ Years of previous experience working with ERP manufacturing modules.
  • Experience integrating Dynamics GP with CRM, e-Commerce and third party payroll services.
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field of study.
  • CPA and/or other relevant professional organization certifications.
