The Microsoft 365 Engineer will join the Business Productivity practice as a Microsoft software developer. The incumbent will be a key technical contributor in Microsoft 365 Productivity projects, focusing on backend development, leveraging PowerShell, database knowledge, and a willingness to learn/investigate new problems.

Essential Functions

  • Billable hour expectation of 1,325 annually
  • Work with many different languages, platforms, and frameworks such as: Node.js, React, Typescript, Github, Chat Bots, and Azure
  • Provide support for project and escalated incident management tickets for current SharePoint/Microsoft 365 customers
  • Create PowerShell scripts to streamline file migrations, file format updates, and other automation needs
  • Complete SharePoint Framework development tasks to support customer projects
  • Participate in SharePoint migration upgrade activities to support client migrations to latest/greatest SharePoint on prem environments and to SharePoint Online
  • Share, build, and follow team quality processes in projects and support activities
  • Support pre-sales activities by estimating project work for prospective clients
  • Dedicate time to researching, evaluating, and integrating new technologies related to Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Power Apps, and the broader suite of Microsoft productivity applications)
  • Delight clients by delivering Microsoft-based solutions that simplify their business processes
  • Build lasting customer relationships based on exceptional customer service and support, best in class solution quality, and open and honest communication
  • Engage in relevant user groups to build skillsets as well as the HBS brand in the marketplace
  • Embrace new challenges in similar or parallel workstreams as needed

Skills & Abilities

Required Experience:
  • 1+ years’ professional IT experience designing, building and implementing applications using Microsoft technologies
  • 1+ years’ Customer Service experience
  • 1+ years working HTML, JavaScript, and/or CSS experience
  • Associate degree in business or related IT discipline or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience:
  • 1+ years working with Node.js, React, Typescript, Github, Chat Bots, and Azure
  • 1+ years of PowerShell script development
  • 1+ SharePoint upgrade projects implementation experience
  • 1+ years working in SharePoint development framework
  • Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university) in business or related IT discipline
  • Active Microsoft Collaboration certifications
  • SharePoint workflow plug-ins, such as K2, Nintex, or other third-party tools
  • SharePoint migration tools such as Sharegate, MetaLogix, Mover, or other
  • Power Automate, Power Apps development
  • SharePoint on premises and/or SharePoint Online/Office 365
