Senior ERP Consultant ( Financial)

This position is responsible for providing business consultation, implementation and client support activities, which are currently focused around Dynamics GP and related third party products. 

Essential Functions

  • Provide training and ongoing support to users of Microsoft Dynamics GP and related products.
  • Obtain and document an understanding of process requirements for software selection and custom application design.
  • Generate and review Functional Requirements Documents and Project Plans.
  • Solve problems by gathering information, analyzing, prioritizing and evaluating options, and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Apply proper accounting standards in planning and design decisions made relating to GP setup, process design flows, transactional testing and posting methodologies.
  • Develop general business and industry specific knowledge of innovative and best practices, procedures and techniques to assist clients in identifying and solving problems. 
  • Learn new development tools as needed and working either alone or in a team environment.
  • Participate in presales discovery and presentations with new and existing clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, loyal, long term relations with clients.
  • Attain and maintain Microsoft and industry certifications appropriate to the job emphasis. 
  • Provide effective project management.
  • Identify client needs and related opportunities that can be addressed through services and products provided by Heartland Business Systems. 
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration within Heartland Business Systems.

Skills & Abilities

Required Education: 
Bachelor's Degree:  Required, Field of Study: Accounting, Business or Operations Management, or Management Information Systems
Preferred Education: Master’s degree preferred.  Field of study:  MBA or CPA
Required Experience: Depth of understanding in multiple business processes and industries.
3+ Years of previous experience providing client services.
Preferred Experience: 2+ Years of previous experience working with Dynamics GP.
ERP implementation experience.
Microsoft Transact SQL query or other business intelligence tool experience.
Computer Skills: Advanced MS Office Skills (for example, Word templates, Excel Pivot tables, SQL queries, etc.): Required 
Microsoft Dynamics GP:  Preferred
Certifications &
Licenses: CPA and/or other relevant professional organization certifications: Required 
Other Requirements: This role requires employee to travel onsite to clients. As a result, the employee must have reliable transportation to get to and from client sites. In addition, there are, at times, situations that require the employee to be onsite before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m. with clients, including overnight stays.
