Free preview ended July 1. Usage-based billing now in effect.
With Copilot Cowork's move to general availability at the start of this month, Microsoft has introduced a new credit-based billing system with two payment options: PayGo, billed per credit at $0.01 each, or a Prepaid P3 plan for predictable monthly spend.
Admins get four cost management tools to go with it: spending limits, alerts, usage reporting, and credit requests. These give IT visibility into who's using Cowork and how much it costs. A quick /cost command inside Copilot also shows real-time usage.
It felt no different than using spellcheck. It wasn't.
A manager pastes performance reviews into a free AI account for over a year. Information including names, pay, disciplinary notes—it never crosses her mind to think about where the data goes. It doesn't, until a stolen-credential dump surfaces her account and legal, compliance, and the CEO get pulled in within the hour.
Organizations with unlicensed OneDrive for Business accounts are at risk of those accounts being deleted after 365 days in archive—regardless of active retention policies or eDiscovery holds.
Building on Power Apps without governance in place is how "quick fix" becomes "unmaintainable mess" six months later. HBS just earned Microsoft's Low-Code Application Development Specialization: verified expertise in building Power Platform apps that scale without turning into shadow IT.

Cyber Resilience Checklist
A resilient security posture is much more than a single project.
Quarterly Priorities
Pick 2-3 per quarter.
Review and update information security policies (don't forget AI-specific risks)
Vet third-party vendors for security gaps in your supply chain
Refine your Incident Response Plan and confirm everyone knows their role
Test your Disaster Recovery Plan against realistic scenarios
Classify data by sensitivity and align retention with regulation
Run a tabletop exercise simulating a real incident
Complete a cybersecurity gap analysis against NIST or CIS Controls
Hunt for Shadow IT—and Shadow AI—running unsanctioned in your org
Review your Zero Trust posture: MFA, segmentation, identity, device trust
Stand up (or refresh) role-specific security awareness training
Standardize configurations and retire outdated settings
Run a penetration test before year-end
Always On
Non-negotiable, all year.
Verify backups and rehearse recovery (regularly, not just once)
Audit compliance against evolving regulations (PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.)
It is estimated that 70% of enterprise customers will migrate their virtual workloads by 2028, but the path off legacy platforms doesn't have to mean ripping out everything you've already invested in.
Join HBS, Nutanix, and Everpure on July 15th to see how to migrate workloads without replacing your existing storage, scale compute and storage independently, and add cyber resilience without rebuilding your management stack from scratch.
Business Central keeps evolving, but too many organizations are only using a fraction of what they're already paying for.
Join HBS on July 22nd to see how the latest updates can improve financial reporting, streamline inventory and drop shipments, integrate Shopify for easy site and point-of-sale connectivity, and put new productivity features to work.
Patient experience starts with the first call. It breaks down the moment communication can't keep pace with a dispersed healthcare team.
Join HBS and Webex on July 23rd for a 45-minute look at how Webex Contact Center, Life Safety, and Omni-Channel solutions work together. Together they cut hold times, speed up emergency response, and unify voice, messaging, and chat across your organization.
