Bentley World Packaging (Bentley) provides full-service warehousing, including kitting and custom packaging for domestic and international shipment.
Bentley recognized that they were spending considerable time on small one-time orders. To improve delivery time and reduce handling costs, Bentley decided to offer standard packaging online for purchase.
The key to the development of this e-commerce site was to reduce order handling by Bentley. Shipping and picking documents needed to be generated automatically as part of the order process. Pricing needed to be accurate based on custom package dimensions entered by the customer. Shipping was to occur from the Bentley location nearest to the customer’s delivery address.
During the discovery phase of the project, HBS determined that Kentico was a good fit to address the customer’s overall website and e-commerce goals, and Microsoft Dynamics GP was identified as the ERP solution.
A custom integration between Kentico and GP was built utilizing a third party plugin to maintain PCI compliancy and perform order settlement inside of GP.
