The ERP Team at Heartland Business Systems (“HBS”) continues to support the Microsoft Dynamics GP platform, and beyond. We believe in Dynamics GP and the value and reliability it brings to many of our clients. It is a tried-and-true full ERP solution for a multitude of customer environments. Our team at HBS continues to grow to support our practice and changing customer profiles. The ERP Team’s top priority is to provide world-class service and support to all our clients.
Last year, Microsoft released an updated GP roadmap which shows support and enhancement through 2028. It is there to stay! In each release comes added functionality, security, and compliance.

In our June 2022 webinar, Dynamics GP and 365 Business Central from HBS, we shared the future of GP with our clients. Plus, we showcased a few of our team’s favorites, and most appreciated, new functions from the last three releases. In case you missed it, we featured functions such as copy/paste payroll transactions, stock count import/export, and inquiry saving. There are many more features and updates available as well.
Like other Microsoft products, GP is now on a modern lifecycle. What does this mean for our clients? This simply means you have better, more continuous support and service. Typically, releases are pushed out three times per year, especially for year-end. We recommend that clients upgrade annually to ensure they have the highest compliance and security, plus the benefits of the latest added features. Third-party products continue to be in the market to support GP and continue to enhance their offerings and stay up to date with GP releases. Stay tuned for what this October will showcase for GP at Dynamics Summit NA.
While GP is here to stay, we are continuing to spread our knowledge and experience with Microsoft’s cloud ERP system, Dynamics 365 Business Central (“BC”). Many clients are intrigued by this “new” platform, which looks very different than GP. BC isn’t actually new, it is the updated version of Microsoft NAV, which has been around just as long as Dynamics GP. BC offers a lot of the same ERP function as GP but is Software as a Service (SaaS) versus perpetual licensing and only cloud based on Azure. Two of the highlights of BC are the ability to conduct business anywhere because of the Azure platform and deeper integration with other Microsoft programs such as Office and the Power Platform.
Whichever ERP solution is the best fit for your environment, know that HBS is here to support you. Our ERP Team has a breadth of knowledge and expertise across both Microsoft Dynamics platforms and supports everything from accounting, workflow, inventory, manufacturing, reporting/BI, process improvement, and so much more. If you would like assistance with reviewing your current system and processes, and to maximize your investments, our ERP Team at HBS is here to help!
