The cybersecurity landscape is evolving rapidly with the threat of criminal cyber intrusions and nation state threat activity becoming less distinguishable. Supervisory Special Agent Kory Bakken will discuss the nature of some of these new threats, the importance of being prepared for a cyber intrusion, and how to partner with the FBI to put your business in the best position to respond to such a threat.

Kory Bakken is a Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Chicago, where he has served for the last 18 years. Kory has specialized in cyber and national security investigations for the last decade, and he also has experience investigating white collar crime, public corruption, and organized crime. Prior to working at the FBI, he was an IT Consultant at Accenture, and he is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

As Vice President of Technology at Mittera, head quartered in Des Moines, Iowa, Patricia oversees enterprise IT shared services, technology strategy and development for client solutions and system and cyber security, engaging, supporting, and designing solutions for various business units spanning over 20 locations across the country. With a growth by acquisition strategy, Mittera continues to be efficient and effective by aiming to keep technology innovation and workflow automation solutions at the forefront to protect and simplify complex business challenges for clients in various industries that yield high process improvements and meaningful results.
Patricia is PMP-certified and has vast experience in building and leading high-performance teams, managing technology implementations that range from large enterprise companies to start-ups and post-acquisition business integrations within the SaaS and manufacturing industries and designing client support models that deliver value and foster strong partnerships. Before joining Mittera, Patricia managed enterprise operations and implementation strategies for Pageflex, led program management initiatives for over 500 clients at Consolidated Graphics, providing strategic solutions while aiding in over $1MM of new business through cross promotional selling.

As an vCISO and Information Security Consultant at HBS, Matthew helps clients establish thorough risk management programs and strong security postures within the Financial, Software-as-a-Service, Manufacturing, and Healthcare industry sectors. A computer engineering graduate from Iowa State, Matthew guides clients on technical details, policy creation, and overall business considerations related to cybersecurity.

Steve Heston is a career “growth guy,” having led companies and divisions of companies large and small, private and public to grow revenue, profits, market share and operating efficiencies. In his role as a Solutions Consultant for HBS, he works with a select group of Clients to grow by establishing and executing Information Security and IT strategies and solutions.
