Join us as we conquer the challenges of cybersecurity in healthcare with a panel of industry leading security professionals as they uncover strategies and tactics to reduce cybersecurity risk in your healthcare technology environment. Jennifer Mueller, Vice President & Chief Privacy Officer from Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center will moderate our esteemed panel of information security executives.

In this hour-long discussion, we will ask questions ranging from information security strategy to execution to managing incidents in real time. Join this group of leaders in cybersecurity as we build a healthcare-focused technology community where meaningful conversations take place, and attendees and gain valuable insights from their peers.

Jennifer MuellerJennifer Mueller, MBA, RHIA, SHIMSS, FACHE, FAHIMA is the vice president and privacy officer at the Wisconsin Hospital Association Information Center, located in Madison Wisconsin. Prior to starting in this role, Ms. Mueller was the vice president and chief information officer at Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown Wisconsin.
She is a member of, and holds Fellow certifications from both the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She completed a three-year term on the AHIMA board of directors in 2021 and is the 2023 current President/Chair. She has also received numerous awards during her career including WHIMA’s Rising Star Award, Motivator Award and the Distinguished member award.

Panelists:

Angela JohnsonAngela Johnson is chief information security officer for Children’s Wisconsin. A tireless advocate for the better health and wellness of children, Angela works all levels of information systems to promote policies that support this goal. She has more than 18 years of experience in information systems, supply chain and financial services. Always focused on Children’s belief that kids deserve the best, Angela leads Children’s strategic efforts to improve security and infrastructure processes and securely implement new technology. She works in close partnership with all parts of the system to support innovation and collaboration while ensuring compliance with the strict regulatory environment governing the healthcare industry.

Ben SchmittBen Schmitt serves as the CISO for Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA helping to protect data and identities while supporting the mission of advancing health through specialized care and personal touch.  Previously, Ben served in information security and product management positions in a leading fintech company (Dwolla), global manufacturing/engineering (Danfoss) and telecommunications (TDS Telecom).

Derek SailorsDerek Sailors is the Director of Information Systems and Information Security Officer at Community Hospital System in McCook, NE, and volunteer on several incident response and cyber security excellence advisory groups. Derek holds over 15 certifications in various areas of IS excellence including technology management, incident command, cybersecurity, security architecture other information systems distinctions. Derek has achieved repeated local and national recognition including being named a “CIO to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review for the last two years in a row, 2018 Nebraska HIMSS Visionary of the Year, and a Caring Kind Award recipient. 

Jennifer Mueller CISOJennifer Mueller is the CISO at Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services. Prior to joining DHS’s information security team, her career focused on Medicaid and FoodShare administration in both technical and non-technical roles. Understanding the impact DHS’s programs have on the person has resulted in “security as a service” approach for Jen and her team.
