HBS Recognized in Gartner’s Outsourced Managed Security Services Market Guide
- HBS one of just 33 companies included in Gartner’s 2026 Market Guide
Little Chute, Wisconsin — Heartland Business Systems (HBS) has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Market Guide for Outsourced Managed Security Services as a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for Security Operations Center (SOC), Managed XDR/EDR and Managed Vulnerability Scanning.
HBS was one of just 33 companies included in the report, which evaluates providers delivering outsourced managed security services to help organizations address cybersecurity talent shortages, operational complexity, and rising risk.
According to Gartner, boutique MSSPs focus on highly tailored cybersecurity solutions, deep technical expertise and a high-touch, consultative approach. These providers are designed for organizations that need more than standardized, one-size-fits-all security services—especially those operating in regulated or high-risk environments such as healthcare, finance and critical infrastructure.
Unlike large global providers that rely on rigid delivery models, HBS focuses on flexibility and hands-on engagement. Clients work directly with experienced security professionals who help them respond faster, reduce noise and make informed decisions when it matters most.
"As cyber risks evolve, businesses need a partner who can move as fast as the threats they face. That’s exactly what our SOC team delivers. Speed, clarity, and confidence through security solutions built around each client’s unique environment."
- Megan Soat, HBS Director of Cybersecurity
The Gartner Market Guide notes that by the end of 2026, more than 40 percent of organizations—including two-thirds of midsize enterprises—are expected to rely on managed service providers for cybersecurity validation and operations due to staffing challenges and cost pressures. Gartner encourages organizations to seek providers that offer active response capabilities, strong integration with existing environments, and long-term partnership models.
The HBS Security Operations Center (SOC) and Managed XDR
The HBS SOC provides continuous monitoring, investigation and response support day and night. Analysts triage alerts, validate activity and notify clients only when action is required. Noncritical issues stay off your phone. Real incidents do not.
HBS Managed XDR combines a U.S.-based Security Operations Center with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to deliver 24x7 detection and response across endpoints, cloud workloads, servers, network devices and email.
Custom playbooks are built for each client’s environment, allowing analysts to separate real threats from background noise and take action early. Machine learning, behavioral analytics and human tuning work together to limit false positives and surface what actually matters.
Managed Vulnerability Scanning from HBS
HBS Managed Vulnerability Scanning provides automatic, proactive visibility into weaknesses across your network.
Our SOC team runs the scans and delivers clear, actionable reports through a simple cloud portal. Clients can launch on-demand scans, track system health with a GPA-style score, and choose whether to remediate internally or with help from an HBS Virtual Security Engineer.
The service delivers full asset visibility, supports compliance and cyber insurance requirements, and uses straightforward pricing based only on device count.
